Why did you become a real estate agent?

​As the wife of a Veteran, I am no stranger to moving. We have lived in 7 different states, and bought and sold 3 homes in just 5 years. We have rented homes, and apartments, lived in base housing and owned homes. Needless to say, we have had a lot of experience with realtors, lenders, and landlords and experienced firsthand how drastically different the experience is when you have the right people working for you. I want to provide the peace of mind to my clients that they have hired someone who is going to keep in contact with them every step of the way and treat their home purchase or sale as if it were their own.

Who is Jennifer?

Born in Alaska and raised in a family of entrepreneurs, I learned from an early age the importance of earning the trust and respect of my clients, colleagues and the community as a whole. My drive and dedication is reflected in my 10+ years of experience in the community banking industry where I quickly turned my part time college job as a teller into a fulfilling career as Vice President and Controller for one of the top-rated, community banks in Arizona. 

As the wife of a Veteran (and expert packer and mover), I have first-hand experience with a variety of transactions and circumstances when it comes to buying and selling a home. “Semper Gumby” (Always Flexible), as the Marine Corps likes to say, became a common and comfortable way of life for us.

After separating from the Marine Corps we chose to settle in beautiful upstate New York. We were drawn to this little known gem of an area that still had the charm of a small town, but big city accommodations. The beautiful countryside, hiking trails, and vibrant community of small local farmers reminded us a lot of where we grew up in Northern California, but with a character and history all its own. 

Since moving to the greater Saratoga area, I have been working as the transaction coordinator for both Saratoga Spa Realty & Carda LLC Property Management, gaining an in depth knowledge of the real estate industry from “behind the scenes”.  After leaving my corporate career, I have enjoyed being able to connect with people and dedicate my corporate skill set to helping others make one of the largest purchases in their life; giving them the guidance, time, and attention they deserve.

In my off time I can be found wrangling my two vivacious young daughters and working on our small family farm. I enjoy gardening, hiking, and getting involved with the local community.

Emily Thomas is a licensed Associate Real Estate Broker who has been helping buyers and sellers in the Capital Region and the surrounding areas since 2004. She is a native of the Capital Region and has been residing in Saratoga County for over 20 years. 

Emily ensures one of the most important financial decisions made in your life is a fantastic experience from the moment you start working with her, to the closing table and years beyond. Emily has a finance background graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from The College of Saint Rose.  She helps her clients understand the financial side of selling and buying.  Through each stage of the home buying and selling process Emily will answer all of your questions and make the experience as smooth as possible. 

Through the years Emily has been awarded many Real Estate awards, including: Star Society, Honor Society, and Million Dollar Club.
